German World War II Army dagger mfg. by F.W. Holler in Solingen. The reverse of the blade is marked " * F.W. HOLLER */ SOLINGEN" around a commercial style thermometer maker mark. Standard plated eagle crossguard and oak leaf pommel with orange trylon spiral grip. Plated scabbard with oak leaf embellishments on suspension bands, and original hanger. Tip of scabbard is not present. Grip is wrapped with an original portepee. CONDITION: very good overall, with the blade retaining a bright and brilliant surface, with a few small scattered spots of discoloration. Crossguard and pommel exhibit areas of wear, with dark patina overall. Scabbard shows pleasant age related toning. Hanger remains sturdy and serviceable. Portepee shows some areas of fraying. A nice German Army dagger that was produced by a quality mfg. (02-21054/MLW). $400-600.
