This lot consists of the following German bayonets: 1) CG Haenel 98/05 Butcher Blade bayonet. No scabbard present. Spine has Saxon proof & 1910 date. Blade has CG Haenel markings & "246". Metal surfaces are blued denoting Weimar or Third Reich overhaul. CONDITION: handles show chipping, dings & handling wear. Metal shows scattered thinning, edge wear & some oxidation. 2) German Dress Bayonet with scabbard. Blade has maker marking that appears to be an intertwined "S&H". Chrome finished metal. Scabbard present. CONDITION: black grip panels show a crack on one panel, some handling wear & staining. Metal shows scattered flaking, scratches & oxidation. Scabbard shows a notable dent, overall flaking & oxidation. 3) German Dress Bayonet with scabbard & canvas frog. Blade has maker logo that appears to be knight's armor. Chrome finish. Scabbard is a standard 84/98 replacement. CONDIITON: grips show a few deep chips, some handling wear & dings. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered flaking chrome, scratches & oxidation with heavy oxidation on pommel. Scabbard shows scattered flaking & oxidation. 4) German 1871 Bayonet. Blade has both Erfurt & Weyerburg markings. Crossguard has 12th Infantry regiment unit marking. Scabbard has canceled 48th Infantry regiment unit marking. CONDITION: brass parts of bayonet & scabbard are a dull yellow patina with oxidation & dings. Crossguard is a dull gray oxidized patina. Blade is partially bright with scattered oxidation & scratches. 5) German 98/05 Butcher Blade Bayonet. German 98/05 bayonet made by Cito-Coln. Leather frog & steel scabbard present. CONDITION: handles show some dings & handling wear. Metal parts of bayonet are a silvery-gray color with scattered oxidation & areas turning gray. Scabbard is also silvery gray with two holes on rear, scattered oxidation & some dents. Frog shows scattered flaking & staining. (02-24261-4/MJC). $300-500 for lot.
