38H SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 503015. Bbl. 3 3/8". Model 38H semi-automatic pistol mfg. by J.P. Sauer & Sohn. Left side of the slide is marked "CAL. 7,65", with the right side remaining blank. Left side of the frame is marked with a German police Eagle/F proof on the forward trigger guard web, with the S# marked at the tang. Right side of the frame, slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a dull military blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "SUS" monogram checkered black plastic grips. Left grip panel appears to be a replacement. Fixed blade front sight, with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. Frame features a grooved decocker lever, with the late production style slide exhibiting no provision for a safety lever. Slide matches the frame via the last 3-digits of the S# "015". MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked "SCHAMBACH&Co/ BERLIN/ 1941" above an eagle party insignia. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning and wear overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting areas of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a large chip in the top left corner, as well as a crack on the right side that stems from the grip screw slot. Black leather holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, as well as areas of age related cracking and crazing. (24-6817/MLW). CURIO. $500-1,000.
