This fine lot includes 1 WWII German SS overseas cap for an officer. The green wool cap has silver piping and has a black trapezoidal SS eagle and death’s head sewn to the front. The putty-colored rayon interior shows staining but is not marked. / 1 WWI Prussian artillery feldmutze. The gray-green cap is piped and banded in red, with a national and Prussian cockade on the front. / 1 Italian WWII overseas-style cap in faded blue-gray. The front has a gold bullion eagle grasping an infantry horn over crossed cannons. The center of the horn has the number “1” attached. The left side of the cap has two bullion stars, possibly for a general. The hat shows a cream-colored silk interior with a blue sweatband. / 1 WWI spike helmet cloth cover with a red band on the interior. The cover comes with a large cylindrical black-painted cardboard case with leather straps that once housed an officer’s spike helmet. There is a note on the lid showing the owner and information in German. CONDITION: hats generally show light wear. The interior of the Italian hat shows significant sweat stains. One of the closure straps to the spike helmet case has been cut but is present. (02-22732-2/BF). $700-900.
