Cal. 8.15x46R. S# NSN. The 29-1/2" barrel is nicely filed in flutes. Top flat has remnants of maker's name. Coin finished martini type Schuetzen action has removable breech block and trigger group. Top tang is fitted with large peep sight adjusted for windage and elevation. Action is engraved with large acanthus scroll surrounding jaeger and peasant scenes. Triggers are double set. Plain European walnut Schuetzen stock with large saddle type cheekpiece has steel helm type buttplate. Right side of stock is relief carved with acanthus scroll and hunting dog. Checkering is of basket weave type and rosettes are at front part of stock. Matching forend has sidebolt attachment. CONDITION: fair to good. Barrel re-blued. Action heavily cleaned. Engraving detail compromised. Stocks have old oil refinish with some marks. Bore is fair to good, dark with rifling evident. Set triggers work but action will not fire.
