SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 133240. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale while under German occupation in 1942. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of frame, slide, and bbl. exhibit an Eagle/WaA140 proof. Left side of forward trigger guard web is stamped "MR". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which feature red anti-moisture barrier paint on the interior of the panels. Thumbprint slide features a dovetailed blade front sight, with tangent V-notch rear sight, graduated 50-500. All serialized parts are matching in the "stacked" fashion and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 13-rd. mag. with blued split tail floorplate, marked with a faint Eagle/WaA140 proof on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some edge wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of mild surface oxidation. Front grip strap exhibits wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina, with the rear grip strap exhibiting a mostly gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some areas of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner.
