SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 105729. Bbl. 4 3/8". Model 1922 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale while under German occupation during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE" above an upside down Eagle/WaA140 proof, followed by an eagle firing proof and an Eagle/WaA140 proof (the latter 2 proofs also marked on the left side of the frame). Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Fixed half-moon blade front sight, with dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide (interior), bbl., as well as the slide extension. MAGS: 1 9-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting a few areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Front grip strap exhibits consistent mild surface oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2388/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
