SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 30916a. Bbl. 4 7/16". Model 1922 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale while under German occupation between May to December of 1943. Left side of the slide is marked "(H)". followed by "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE" alongside an eagle firing proof and x2 Eagle/WaA140 proofs (eagle firing proof and Eagle/WaA140 proof repeated on frame and bbl.). Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight (on slide extension) and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the slide, slide extension, and bbl. MAGS: x1 9-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: later unmarked brown leather holster. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original salt blue finish, exhibiting mild wear and thinning on the edges of the slide extension, as well as on the underside of the trigger guard bow and on the grip straps, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation and some light superficial handling marks present overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of very light pinprick spots of pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Frame is approx. 1/16" proud to the slide at the rear. Grips show some light smoothing to the diamonds and a few superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some light wear and some superficial handling marks. (26-1719/MLW). CURIO. $350-500.
