PISTOL WITH TANGENT REAR SIGHT & POST-WAR HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 125607. Bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Belgium by FN while under German occupation, circa. January to November of 1942. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/ HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Left side of the frame and slide exhibit an Eagle/WaA140 and eagle firing proof, with the frame also exhibiting an "MR" that is stamped on the forward trigger guard web. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Grip straps exhibit consistent light to mild surface oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some light smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some wear and marks from handling and storage. (24-6912/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
