SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH SCARCE KRIEGSMARINE MARKED HOSLTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 53721. Bbl. 4". Model D semi-automatic pistol mfg. at the MAB (Manufacture D'Armes de Bayonne) arsenal in France while under German occupation. Left side of the slide exhibits standard arsenal markings, with the right side of the frame exhibiting the S#, followed by a German Eagle/WaA251 acceptance proof and "MAB". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. MAGS: 2 9-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: leather holster, likely for a Mauser Model 1934, marked with a German Kriegsmarine Eagle/M proof on the rear, containing 1 spare mag. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall, with the balance retaining a brown patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips are good, exhibiting smoothing and scattered marks from handling and storage. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some age-related cracking and crazing, with some separation in the stitching on the right side of the closure flap. (24-1500/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
