PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 74254. Bbl. 4 1/8". Model D semi-automatic pistol mfg. by MAB (Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne) while under German occupation during World War II. Left side of the slide exhibits standard arsenal markings, with the right side of the frame also exhibiting standard arsenal markings, with the addition of an Eagle/WaA251 proof. Bbl. exhibits a German eagle firing proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "MAB" checkered black synthetic grips. Fixed half-moon blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via the last 2-digits of the S# "54". MAGS: 1 9-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Left grip shows scattered superficial marks and a crack at the bottom of the panel that stems from the screw slot, as well as a small crack on the right. Right grip exhibits smoothing, warping, and a chip on the right side of the panel at and around the mag. release button. (25-2389/MLW). CURIO. $400-700.
