SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# G8823. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis.35 (also known as the "wz.35" and "P.35(p)") semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Poland at the Radom arsenal while under German occupation during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "F.B.RADOM VIS Mod.35 Pat.Nr.15567.", followed by a German eagle firing proof and Steyr Eagle/623 proof (indicating final assembly at Steyr), above a Radom Eagle/WaA77 proof and the German designation "P.37(p)". Left side of the frame is marked with a Radom Eagle/WaA77 proof, with the bbl. exhibiting a Steyr Eagle/623 proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, with "FB" on the left panel and "VIS" on the right. Slide features a matte rib, with a fixed blade front sight and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd., marked with an Eagle/189 on the floorplate. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild wear and thinning, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Grip straps exhibit consistent light to mild surface oxidation overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting some areas of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-321/MLW).
