PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# G3417. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis.35 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. in Poland at the Radom arsenal while under German occupation during World War II. Left side of slide is marked "F.B.RADOM VIS Mod.35.Pat.Nr.155657," followed by an eagle firing proof above Eagle/77 and Eagle/WaA623 proofs. Sides of the frame exhibit a single Eagle/77 proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown plastic grips, with the left panel marked "FB" and the right "VIS." Matte rib with blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. All numbers are matching and are present on the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one 8-rd. mag., marked with an Eagle/159 on the floorplate. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their late war dull blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning and some superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit wear and thinning through to a gray patina. Exterior of bbl. exhibits areas of darker age-related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing as well as some scattered marks and nicks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the estate collection of Charles Wagner.
