PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# P1284. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis.35 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. in Poland at the Radom arsenal while under German occupation during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "F.B.RADOM VIS Mod.35.Pat.Nr15567", followed by an eagle firing proof and an Eagle/623 proof, above an Eagle/77 proof. Left and right sides of the frame exhibit a single Eagle/77 proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips, with "FB" marked on the left panel and "VIS" marked on the right. Matte rib with blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one 8-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as a few dark spots of surface oxidation on the left side of the slide. Grip straps exhibit areas of wear and thinning that show through to a gray patina. Near mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as some scattered nicks and marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the estate collection of Charles Wagner. (24-4640/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
