PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 69644. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis. 35 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Poland at the Radom arsenal while under German Occupation during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "F.B. RADOM VIS Mod.35.Pat.Nr15567," with an Eagle/WaA77 proof marked on the slide and frame. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the bbl. and trigger, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "FB" and "VIS" checkered black synthetic grips. Blade front sight with matte rib and V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide. Bbl. is mismatched. MAGS: one 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with scattered areas of pitting present overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting areas of mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as scattered nicks and marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Bill Peterken.
