PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# A1435. Bbl. 4 5/8". Vis.35 (also known as the "wz.35" and "P.35(p)") semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Poland at the Radom arsenal while under German occupation. Left side of the slide is marked "F.B.RADOM VIS Mod.35.Pat.Nr.15567.", followed by a German eagle proof, above a Radom Eagle/77 proof and Steyr Eagle/623 proof (indicating final assembly at Steyr). Left side of the frame is marked with a Radom Eagle/77 proof, with the left side of the bbl. being marked with a Steyr Eagle/623 proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown bakelite grips, with "FB" on the left panel and "VIS" on the right. Slide features a matte rib, with a fixed blade front sight and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide (interior), and bbl. (left side of lug). MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd. mag. marked with an Eagle/189 proof on the floorplate. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some superficial handling marks and scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Grip straps exhibit moderate wear and thinning, with mild degrees of surface oxidation present on the rear grip strap. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-319/MLW).
