LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 9044o. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1936. The bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1936" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/63 proofs and a droop eagle firing proof marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "S/42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, as well as the toggles. Rear toggle pin is mismatched via "60" (or "09"). Grips are unnumbered and unproofed. MAGS: 1 blued steel "fxo" marked mag., with unmarked (scrubbed) aluminum plug. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting a few spots of light edge wear fading to gray patina, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light pitting beneath the finish. Strawed parts have been cleaned, retaining traces of their finish and showing some light pitting overall. Bore exhibits consistent light pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as scattered nicks and small impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound.
