Cal. 45. NSN. The octagon 20" barrel has a brass blade front sight and a notch rear sight. Rebated lock marked "REHL A MEHLES". Double-set triggers; rear convention is set. Pinned full-length walnut stock. Stock has French skip line checkering at the wrist, carved borders to the ramrod channel and thimble, a rose and scrollwork at the ends of the cheekpiece, and borders on the patchbox lid. Brass parts, including ramrod pipe, thimble, finger curl trigger guard, patchbox plate, and buttplate. Stock also features a horn nosecap, sling swivel, and sling screw on the toeline. CONDITION: metal has a brown patina appearance with heavy pitting around the breech, showing scattered marks. Good wood finish showing worn finish in forearm area with scattered marks and gouges. Front triggerguard pin is missing. Brass shows mustard patina with sm. dents throughout. Nosecap shows large chips. Pitted bore with strong rifling. (01-24332/MD). ANTIQUE. $700-900.
