SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 8741g. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM in 1917 for the Imperial German military. The bbl. extension is marked "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, mag. release button, safety lever, and ejector, which exhibit a straw finish. Grip screws and blade front sight exhibit a reapplied nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All serialized parts are matching (save for on the takedown lever), with most appearing to have been renumbered at one time. MAGS: 2 spuriously matching wood bottom 8-rd. mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "Handwerkskammer/ Wurzburg/ 1917" on the interior of the closure flap. Holster contains an unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied finishes, exhibiting some areas with varying degrees of pitting beneath the finish. Dark pitted bore, retaining fair rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing moderate smoothing and some scattered nicks and marks to the diamonds. Left grip panel exhibits a glued repair in the top right corner at the safety lever. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some wear, as well as some areas of light to mild age related cracking.
