SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm. S# 9994c. Bbl 4". Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured at the Royal Arsenal Erfurt during World War I for the Imperial German military. The barrel extension is stamped "1916" over the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal proofs stamped on the right. Toggle is stamped with a crown over "ERFURT". Major metal components exhibit an arsenal period reapplied rust blued finish, with some smaller components exhibiting strawed and nitre blued finished. Frame is mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching with the exception of the wood bottom magazine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original brown leather holster marked "RICH.HANEL/ DRESDEN/ 1915" on the front of the body beneath the closure flap, and "AXII15" on the interior of the closure flap. Holster contains 1 spare non-matching wood bottom magazine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their period arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting mild wear and thinning overall, with some light spots of surface oxidation and light pitting scattered overall. Toe of grip strap exhibits wear and thinning that shows through to a pleasant brown patina. Strawed components exhibit varying degrees of wear, with areas of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light oxidation and pitting, and retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show areas of smoothing and some scattered nicks to the diamonds, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks and wear from handling and storage, with areas of crazing and some mild age related cracking.
