FRAME & PARTS. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 8795c. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic frame and parts originally mfg. by Erfurt in 1917 for the Imperial German military. The top of the bbl. extension is marked "1917", with Erfurt arsenal proofs marked on the right. Underside of the bbl. is marked with a British import proofs. Frame and other small parts exhibit Erfurt proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on some small parts, which exhibit a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Nearly all numbers are matching, and include the frame, takedown lever, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, as well as the trigger bar. Grips are mis-matched, but match themselves. Toggle assembly and sideplate are absent. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their period blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Strawed parts retain large amounts of their finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-470/MLW). MODERN. $300-500.
