P.08 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mmL. S# 4135t. Bbl 4". Standard configuration P.08 manufactured by Mauser during World War II. The barrel extension is marked "1939" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/63" waffenamts on the right. Toggle bears Mauser's clandestine "42" manufacturer code. Metal components exhibit a salt blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the grips (unnumbered) and the aluminum bottom magazine. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting a few spots of wear in the usual areas, with areas of light wear and thinning that show through to a pleasant brown patina. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent mild pitting and well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise very good overall. Magazine shows a dent on either side of the body towards the base. (23-4899/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-2,000.
