Hold-open latch is numbered "95". MAGS: 1 blued 8-rd., with non-matching, likely period renumbered (S# "9616", with indiscernible "i" or "t" suffix). CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Grip straps exhibit consistent light to mild pitting, with the frame exhibiting some concentrated spots of mild to moderate pitting beneath the grip panels. Right side of the bbl. exhibits an area of mild pitting at and around the muzzle. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting and some scattered spots of dark pitting (primarily towards the muzzle), while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing, as well as scattered marks and a few minor impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting some minor chipping along the upper edge, with a chip also present to the right of the safety lever. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-287/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
