LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5908. Bbl. 4". Standard configuration "Black Widow" P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1941. The bbl. extension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg "41" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/655 and Eagle/135 arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's clandestine "byf" mfg. code. Left side of the frame is marked "P.08". Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Standard blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. MAGS: 2 black plastic bottom "fxo" mags. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked "P.08" above "JEAN WEIPERT/ OFFENBACH/ 1941" and an Eagle/WaA668" proof, containing a loading tool. CONDITION: good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, some scattered superficial handling marks, a few scratches, as well as some spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bore exhibits scattered spots and areas of mild to moderate dark pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing mild smoothing and some areas of flattening to the diamonds. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting some wear and scattered marks from handling and storage, with age related cracking present primarily on the closure flap and mag. pouch. (24-6903/MLW).
