SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 7790c. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser during 1943. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Mauser's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "byf/ 43", as well as the S#. Right side of the slide has been polished and touched up at one time, with Mauser Eagle/135 acceptance proofs only partially visible. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece grooved black pressed resin grips. Lanyard loop on the left side of the frame is absent. All numbers are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag. CONDITION: metal components retain poor to fair amounts of their arsenal blue finish, with the balance exhibiting wear and thinning overall that shows through to gray patina, with some spots of pitting and mild surface oxidation present overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent mild to moderate pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips exhibit scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-2359/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
