P.08 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6860. Bbl 4". Standard configuration P.08 Luger manufactured by Mauser during 1941. The barrel extension is stamped "41" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/655 and Eagle/135 waffenamts on the right. Toggle is stamped with Mauser's "byf" manufacturer code. Metal components exhibit a salt blued finish, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching (with the exception of the unnumbered Mauser proofed aluminum bottom magazine) and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, barrel, barrel extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, receiver axle pin, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 8 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked period brown leather holster containing a Mauser loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal blue finish, exhibiting scattered areas of wear and thinning overall that show through to gray patina, with some small areas of light pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting and well defined rifling throughout. Grips show mild smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds. Right panel exhibits a grievous crack on the interior that runs the length of the panel and should be handled with care. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage, with age related cracking on the closure strap and heavy crazing on the pull strap. (23-5023/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
