PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 4131e. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser during World War II. The replacement slide is marked "P.38" followed by Walther's mfg. code and (slide) year of mfg. "ac/ 42", and the S#, with Walther Eagle/359 acceptance proofs marked on the right. Frame, bbl., locking block, and mag. exhibit Mauser Eagle/135 acceptance proofs. Slide and bbl. exhibit a reapplied blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece black pressed resin grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: frame retains fair amounts of its original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to brown and gray patina. Slide and bbl. retain large amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to patina. Bore is bright, as refinished, exhibiting moderate pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips exhibit scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
