P.08 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 3186p. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser for the German military in 1939. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1939", with Mauser Eagle/63 proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "S/42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, rear toggle pin, as well as the grips. MAGS: 1 blued matching 8-rd. with Eagle/63 proofed aluminum bottom. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on the bbl., bbl extension, and edges), some superficial handling marks, as well some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as some superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
