PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5978d. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Spreewerke for the German military during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Spreewerke's mfg. code "cyq", and the S#, with Spreewerke Eagle/88 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and breechblock. Right side of slide exhibits unusual pock marks beneath the bluing. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster mfg by Moll Lederwarenfabrik marked "cxb/ 43" and with an Eagle/WaA210 on the rear. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning (predominately on the frame), as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Safety lever decocker functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips are very good, showing a few light superficial handling marks overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting mild wear and some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage.
