SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6546h. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. at the Walther arsenal in 1943. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Walther's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 43", and the S#, with Eagle/359 acceptance proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. All numbered parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: two 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some scattered spots of pitting (primarily on the front grip strap). Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-5466/MLW). CURIO. $500-1,000.
