PISTOL WITH REPRODUCTION STOCK & HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 6010e. Bbl. 7 7/8". LP.08 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by DWM under contract for the Imperial German military during WWI. The bbl. extension is marked "1917" over the top of the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Major metal components exhibit a rust blue finish, with some smaller parts exhibiting either a straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard blade front sight, with tangent rear sight, graduated 1-8. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, trigger, safety lever & bar, bbl., front sight blade, rear sight assembly, bbl. extension, breechblock, firing pin, as well as the toggles. Extractor is an unnumbered Imperially proof replacement and is poorly fit. MAGS: 3 contemporary 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary black leather holster, 2-cell mag. pouch, and wood stock. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of what appears to be their period arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear (primarily on the bbl. and sideplate), with areas of light to mild surface level pitting present overall. Breechblock has been cleaned and retains a gray patina. Strawed parts show varying degrees of wear, with worn areas showing through to a gray patina and scattered spots of darker age-related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent moderate pitting while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as scattered marks from handling and storage, with the left grip panel exhibiting a chip to the right of the safety lever. Reproduction holster, 2-cell mag. pouch, and wood stock are very good to excellent overall. (24-5841/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
