REPLACEMENT BARREL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 9198a. Bbl. 4 5/8". Originally mfg. as an LP.08, this example appears to have been subsequently reworked into a P.08 configuration. The bbl. extension is marked "1917" over the chamber, with DWM arsenal proofs stamped on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with some smaller components exhibiting either a straw or nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Bbl. is a Swiss .30 Luger caliber replacement, which has been numbered to match. All numbers are matching, with some numbers appearing to have been matched at the time of reworking. Mag. is of Swiss production. Left grip screw is of contemporary production. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their period blue finishes, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Strawed components exhibit varying degrees of wear, with worn areas exhibiting a gray patina and scattered spots of age-related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting some grease while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some marks and minor impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable.
