SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 5912k. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger mfg. by Erfurt during WWI for the Imperial German military. Top of the bbl. extension is marked "1917" with Erfurt inspector proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with a "(CROWN)/ ERFURT". Various Erfurt inspector proofs are present overall. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with strawed parts having been reheated. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All serialized parts are matching, with some parts possibly having been renumbered to match at one time. MAGS: 1 tinned 8-rd. mag. with non-matching wood plug. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, showing some spots of light pitting beneath the finish. Reheated strawed parts are excellent. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting, with patches of dark pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining heavily worn rifling throughout. Action functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips show heavy smoothing, as well as scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a chip in the usual area behind the safety lever. (25-3485/MLW).
