LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 3660z. Bbl. 4". Standard configuration P.08 Luger mfg. by Mauser in 1939. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1939", with Mauser Eagle/655 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "42" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, with the ejector having a plum appearance. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are unnumbered. MAGS: 2 non-matching blued 8-rd. mags. with aluminum bottoms. 1 mag. is marked "2618/ a" above an Eagle/655 proof, with the other marked "270/ v" above an Eagle/63 proof. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster marked "HANS ROMER/ NEU-ULM/ 1939" above an Eagle/WaA455 proof on the rear. Holster contains spare mag. and unmarked loading tool. This example is also accompanied by an original 1944 production 16-rd. box of 9x19mm "08 m.E." ammunition. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, minor edge wear, as well as scattered spots of light freckling overall. Bore exhibits consistent dark mild to moderate pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show light smoothing, with some scattered nicks and marks to the diamonds. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting light to mild general wear, with some areas of light age related cracking and crazing.
