SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 3110i. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser for the German military during World War II. Left side of the slide exhibits standard markings, including Mauser's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "byf/ 43", with Mauser Eagle/135 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd., with a Mauser Eagle/135 proof on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some spots/areas of mild wear and thinning, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Front grip exhibits mild to moderate thinning that shows through to a gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of mild pitting, with areas of mild to moderate pitting present on the right side, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2396/MLW). CURIO. $600-1,000.
