SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 5798u. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1941. The bbl. extension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. "41" over the top of the chamber, with a pair of Mauser Eagle/655 inspector proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right (eagle firing proof repeated on right side of bbl. and left side of breechblock). Toggle is marked with Mauser's "byf" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, to including the firing pin and grips. MAGS: x1 matching blued 8-rd. with aluminum plug. Left side of mag. is marked with Haenel's "fxo" mfg. code, Eagle/37 proof, and "P.08". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather holster mfg. by Curt Vogel Lederwarenfabrik in 1941. Rear is marked with Vogel's "fuq" mfg. code and "1941" above an Eagle/WaA14" proof, followed by "P.08". CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original salt blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of wear and thinning on the left side (primarily on the bbl. and sideplate) that are fading to gray patina, some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Left side of the bbl. extension exhibits a mild impression, with the trigger bar "shelf" having completely broken in one area, and with the frame exhibiting a notable impression below the corresponding bbl. extension damage. Right side of bbl. extension exhibits several small spots of apparent mild pitting. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent mild pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics (damage on bbl. extension does not effect serviceability). Grips show light to mild smoothing, with some scattered nicks to the diamonds. Holster remains malleable, showing scattered marks from handling and storage, with some areas of light to mild crazing present overall. (26-1997/MLW). CURIO. $2,750-3,750.
