LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 2631i. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol, mfg. at the Mauser Arsenal in 1942. Top of the bbl. extension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. "42", with Mauser Arsenal acceptance proofs marked on the right side. Toggle is marked with Mauser's "byf" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with reproduction checkered black plastic grips. Nearly all numbers are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever and bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, and toggles. Rear toggle axle pin appears to be a replacement. MAGS: 2 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster marked with a "cxb/ 41" mfg. code and date above an Eagle/WaA727 acceptance proof (indicating mfg. by Moll, Lederwarenfabrik, Goch, Rheinland) containing 1 spare mag. and 1 unmarked loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some areas of mild edge wear, some scattered oxidation, and some scattered superficial handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit mild thinning that shows through to brown patina, as well as light surface oxidation overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting scattered spots of moderate pitting throughout. Grips are poorly fit, showing mild smoothing and some scattered handling marks. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered marks from handling and storage as well as some age-related cracking and crazing. (24-1274/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
