PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 876983. Bbl. 3 1/4". HSc semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser for the German military during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked with the Mauser banner logo, followed by "Mauser-Werke A.G Oberndrof a.N/ Mod. HSc (3-LINES) Kal. 7,65mm". Left side of the rear trigger guard web is marked with a Mauser Eagle/135 proof, with a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof (repeated on right side of slide) marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece flat checkered wood grips. Slide features a smooth sight groove, with an integral blade front sight and dovetailed U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 8-rd. with 7 transverse indicator holes. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, showing light to mild edge wear, scattered spots of finish loss, and some spots of light to mild pitting. Grip straps and underside of trigger guard exhibit mild wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a repaired break at the top left corner. Mag. body shows a mottled gray patina, with some mild pitting on the right side. (25-3731/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
