LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Para. S# 7062p. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol, mfg. by Mauser for the German military in 1939. The bbl. extension is marked "1939" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/63 acceptance proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with Mauser's clandestine "S/42" code. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard blade front sight, with V-notch rear sight. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are unnumbered, and the aluminum bottom mag. is mismatched. MAGS: 1 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting some light wear, thinning, and surface oxidation overall. Bbl. exhibits areas of mild to moderate wear and thinning that through to gray patina (primarily on the muzzle). Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered areas of light to mild surface pitting while retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show mild smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-4106/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-2,000.
