SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 4217a. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1942. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Walther's mfg. code above the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 42", and the S#, with x2 Walther Eagle.359 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, to include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: x1 blued steel Eagle/359 proofed 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting general overall wear and thinning that has faded to gray patina, with light pitting present overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, save for the safety / decocking lever, which freezes at the halfway point when attempting to drop the hammer. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (26-2756/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
