SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 3300k. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1943. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Walther's mfg. above the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 43", and the S#, with x2 Walther Eagle/359 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame and slide. Bbl. and locking block are mismatched, but match each other. MAGS: x1 blued steel Eagle/359 proofed 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots and patches of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, as well as some small scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Front grip strap and underside of frame has largely faded to gray patina. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (26-2774/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
