SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6764b. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1944. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by the S#, as well as Walther's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac 44", with 2 Walther Eagle/359 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece brown pressed resin grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. marked "jvd" on the left side. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal salt blue finish, exhibiting light edge wear, an area with some finish loss on the left side of the frame, as well as some small spots of light surface oxidation and superficial handling marks. Front grip strap has faded to a gray patina. Heel mag. release shows spots of mild pitting. Very bright bore, exhibiting some spots and patches of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show scattered superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. (25-5038/MLW). CURIO. $400-600.
