ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 5.6x35R "Vierling". S# 3796 (June 1940). The 5.6x35R Vierling was a European adaptation of the 22 WCF cartridge; different than 22 Hornet (5.6x36R). Rifle has 1940 Suhl, Germany Nitro proofs on receiver & 22" barrel. Blade front sight & island 2 leaf rear sight. Receiver has large dovetail over chamber; 2 drilled holes along matted surface on top of receiver. Double set triggers. Cheekpiece walnut stock with sling swivels, checkering, grip cap & replacement basket weave buttplate. MAGS: 1 matching 5 rd. mag. CONDITION: Good blue with marks & scattered spots of patina. Fair worn wood finish with scratches, gouges, altered cheekpiece countering & chip of buttstock toe & buttplate. Bright bore with strong rifling. (24-4139/MD). CURIO. $200-400.
