Cal. 44. S# 126801. Standard configuration of the classic "yellow boy" Winchester 1866 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine manufactured in 1876. This survivor is well above average, all original, 20" round barrel with full magazine tube, 2-line "Kings's Improvement" address, two position folding rear sight, integral blade front sight attached to barrel band, saddle ring has been removed flush to the frame, straight grain walnut stock, brass buttplate with trap for cleaning rod which is missing one of three pieces. All in all, a very attractive Winchester 1866 carbine made at the height of western cowboy history. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms search form showing date S# applied November 28, 1875, and shipped April 1, 1876. CONDITION: very good overall, smooth light mustard patinaed brass frame, barrel has mottled brown/gray patina, barrel address is crisp, stock is sound & well fit with small gap at top of butt plate, scattered cosmetic scratches & dings.
