Cal. 16 Ga. x 16 Ga. (2-1/2")/8x57 JR (.319 groove dia.). S# 230 (on barrels). The 23-5/8" barrel set is fitted with full length matted rib holding pop-up rear and silver bead front sights. Maker's name and address are engraved on unmatted portion of rib. Rear is fitted with off set claw scope bases which hold a homemade scope base. Barrel flats are stamped with post 1939 German nitro proofs with March 1940 date code for 16 Ga. 2-1/2" and 8X57 cartridges. Case hardened scallop backed blitz action features side saftey, rifle selector on top tang, pin cocking indicators, cross bolt third fastener, side clips and double triggers (front set). Action is engraved with near full coverage well done Germanic acanthus scroll which surrounds game scenes on sides. Two boar on left and roaring stag and hind on right. Trigger guard is horn. Sunburst horn capped pistol grip buttstock with hog back comb made of well streaked European walnut measures 13-1/8" over basket weave horn buttplate. Stock features point pattern checkering, right hand shadow line cheekpiece and sling loop. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .674. R .674. Restriction: L .040 (Extra Full). R .021 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .023. R .026. STOCK: DAH: 3-3/16". DA rear of hog back: 2-1/16". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 13-1/8". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 3 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Barrels retaining about 90% original blue. Action retains 80-90% case hardening color. Stocks have over 90% original finish with some light marks and spotting.
