Cal. 50. S# NSN. The 6-1/8" octagon to round barrel has nicely turned transition and slightly flared muzzle. Flint lock with bevelled and arched plate is fitted with high breasted serpentine cock, inset faceted pan, unbridled friction frizzen and feather spring with scroll finial. European walnut stock with checkered birds head grip is brass mounted and has good relief carving around barrel tang and some insized carving around lock, sideplate and trigger guard. CONDITION: very good. Brass nicely toned. Lock dark brown patina with bright highlights. Stock retains most of its original finish with light wear and marks. Repairs are noted on right side of thimble. Brass muzzle cap a replacement, as is ramrod. Bore is good. Lock operates but main spring is very weak. (01-24460/MGM). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
