EJECTORS AND DOUBLE TRIGGERS. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 3925 (1931). The 30" barrels fitted with matted game rib have Winchester markings on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with S# and Winchester proofs. Bottoms of barrels are marked for mod and full chokes. Blued action with early style chamfered bottom has hand stamped Winchester proof only on watertable. Action is fitted with automatic safety and double triggers. Early style buttstock with long pistol grip is made of lightly figured American walnut and measures 14-1/2" over later Winchester pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Splinter ejector forend has usual "J" spring and knurled latch release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .730. R .729. Restriction: L .035 (full). R .012 (mod). Wall thickness: L .032. R .030. STOCK: DAH: 2-5/8". DAC: 1-5/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 11 oz. CONDITION: very fine with some light refinishing. Barrels retain over 90% of what appears to be original blue with some scattered marks. Action shows high edge wear and silvering of its blue. It is possible that both barrel and action blue has been enhanced. Blue on trigger guard shows considerable flaking to about 50%. Stocks retain most of their early type varnish finish with a good number of marks. Checkering shows moderate wear. Bores are bright and shiny throughout. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. It is difficult to find and early gun like this that has not been rebuilt or radically changed. (24-3775/MGM). CURIO. $2,000-4,000.
