OF COBLENZ. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 1/2". S# 24308. (ca 1912). Bbls. 29 5/8" Shoe lump engraved "A. F. W. Timner, Coblenz" on milled out portion of slightly raised matted game rib. Case hardened scallop backed boxlock action features non automatic tang safety, pin cocking indicators, crossbolt third fastener, side clips & dbl. triggers. Action is engraved w/ sprays of scroll surrounding rose bouquets all w/in vine borders. Trigger guard is of horn. Lightly marbled & figured European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/8" over checkered horn buttplate & features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering on diamond grip, & sling swivels. Matching splinter forend has Deeley release. Bore diameters: left -.709, right - .709. Restrictions: left -.032 (mod)., right - .029 (mod). Minimum wall thickness: left - .037, right - .040. DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 7/16". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: very good to fine. Bbls. retain as much as 80% original blue w/ numerous marks & scratches from areas of cleaning, mostly on right bbl. Action retains 60% case hardening color w/ areas of rust discoloration. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original finish w/ some clean up on butt. Bores are very fine. Action is tight. Area around loop shows some rusting after being resoldered. Horn of trigger guard cracked through & repaired at rear of bow. (20-393/MGM59). CURIO. $500-800.
