BREUIL. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 2011. The 26-7/8" dovetailed barrels are fitted with slightly raised narrow matted game rib. Barrel flats are stamped "Canon Jean BREUIL Saint-ETIENNE". Bottoms of barrels are stamped with French nitro proofs for 70 mm chambers and steel type. Case hardened sideplated boxlock action features non-automatic safety, hidden third fastener and double triggers. Action and lockplates are engraved with near full coverage very nicely cut small scroll with rose bouquet highlights. No maker's name is present. Matching trigger guard and top lever are blued. Lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-7/8" over red rifle pad. Point pattern flat top checkering is at grip. Matching long splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .635. R .635. Restriction: L .022 (mod). R .014 (light mod). Wall thickness: L .024. R .024. STOCK: DAH: 2-1/8". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: about 5/8" off. LOP: 14-7/8". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 10 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Barrels retaining about 95% original blue. Action retains over 90% case hardening color; silvering on fences and beads. Stocks retain about 90% original oil finish with a good number of minor marks. Checkering is lightly worn. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time.
