PISTOL WITH MATCHING STOCK. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 12281. A beautiful example of Mauser's earliest Large Ring pistols that were assembled using Conehammer bolts and frames. This early example has a 5.5" bbl. w/ a fixed front sight & a pinned 50-500 graduated rear sight. Long extractor, independently secured firing pin. Top of chamber has the usual Mauser address. Crown/"C" /"U" on left side of bbl. extension; antler proof on right. Full S# is on back of frame. Major components rust blued. Most sm. parts fire blued; bolt, hammer, trigger & subframe are in-the-white. Detailed disassembly shows all usual parts matched w/either full S# or last few digits including firing pin, locking block & each of the serrated wood panels. Lanyard ring present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: complete w/ factory matching stock. CONDITION: pistol has approx 97-98% bright original rust blue w/ only the most minor high point wear & slight thinning of the front strap. Comparable condition fire blue on sm. parts. Dark grips w/ most of their varnish & only a few scattered handling marks. Mirror bore. Manual mechanics perfect. Shoulder stock & all metal fixtures have been refinished, the lug now rust blued. (01-22327/LMA). ANTIQUE. $6,500-9,500.
